Peroxide: Be very careful. Hydrogen peroxide can damage you ears and cause serious trouble.

See ENT: Given your history, it would be easiest and safest to see an ear, nose and throat doctor (otolaryngologist) to remove the wax. You'll feel so much better!

ive been suffering with tinnitus for 5 months only on my left ear ive gone to many doctors and say my ear is okay i bought a otoscope camera and saw a big chunk of ear wax covering my eardrum could this be the reason for ringing? im 24 years old?

i have a inner ear infection from old ear wax that has gotten behind my ear drum , er won't help,haw can i get the old ear wax out?

: Ear wax accumulates where it is made in the outer canal. It never enters the middle ear space unless you have no ear drum to block it. I would encourage you to see your regular doc or an ENT to sort out any ear issues you have. The ER is where you go to decide if you need to be admitted for a serious problem.

last winter i briefly got sick. in my left ear, ear wax has been stuck behind my ear drum since then. will this heal over time?
i cannot heat as well.

ENT: Hello. If you have a large quantity of cerumen that is obstructing your ear canal and effecting your hearing - it is likely time to see your physician or your otolaryngologist (ear, nose & throat  doctor). Good luck.

i have experienced 2 days of strong ear pain. family doc checked my ears and said ear wax was hiding my ear drum. he recommended i use baby oil drops , but will it help?

: There are treatment kits for ear wax, available in any pharmacy without prescription. Probably this will be more effective than baby oil.

Unlikely: Ear wax can cause hearing loss and ear discomfort but not the other symptoms. Try cleaning drum with peroxide diluted 1:1 with lukewarm water a couple times daily.  Just make sure to, get all the solution out.  For other symptoms consult ent.

Misunderstood: The ear wax is in the ear canal, before the ear drum. Removing the wax will help considerably. The procedure is very safe.

Don't do it: If you have wax stuck on your eardrum don't use a syringe. You first have to soften the wax with the use of over-the-counter wax softening agents. Then syringing might be helpful. In general i discourage my patients from doing anything to their ears as invariably they make things worse. My preference would be for you to see an ENT doctor to have him or her take care of it.

No: Full strength peroxide is a little strong but even the otc wax drops have peroxide in them.
