calorie foods. Eat 6 meals/day. Work on strength training to build your large muscle groups. Workout w heavier weights w fewer repetitions. Sleep at least 8 to 9 hrs/night. Hydrate well w water. Foods to help w healthy weight gain: almonds, cashews, pecans, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, hummus, Avocados, granola, trail mix, dried fruits, extra virgin olive oil, canola oil

Yes, but: The regaining of weight in that situation usually is partly water weight. Water is 8 pounds per gallon, so is quite heavy. If a fasting person were drinking plenty of water during her fast, then it is less likely that the returned weight is water weight. Each person's situation is somewhat unique. One's body also wants to replenish its glycogen stores (fuel) that were being used during fasting.

Eat more : Frequently especially meat and protein products, carbohydrates, junk foods, exercise less and sleep more. Check your bmi (normally between 20 and 25) & have a baseline blood work including chemistry, lipids panel and thyroid function. Best  wishes!

Why?: Why do you need the weight gain?  Rapid weight gain or loss can be unhealthy but in general increasing caloric intake along with decreased activity can increase weight gain.  Be careful though it may be difficult to lose that weight when you need to.

Weight loss: There are many basic metabolic rate calculators available online that you can calculate how many calories your body burns by doing nothing. On average there are 3500 calories/lb. If you want to lose 1.6 pounds you need to multiply 3500x1.6 and subtract how much you burn off. Let's say this comes out to 4200 calories. Try not to micromanage your weight. Get myfitnesspal and track it smarter.

Don't bother: If your thyroid is normal, be thankful your metabolism is fast at your age. If looking to gain weight, increase calories with good fats, high protein, and carbs from vegetables &amp; fruits, and do more resistance exercises rather than cardio.
