How long from your primary diagnosis?  Those with stereotactic equipment argue that control is better with gk. Solitary metastasis do better with surgery or srs.  For greater than 3 brain metastases, whole brain radiotherapy.

Chemo didn't do it: Sadly, metastatic lesions to the brain are not at all unusual. It is a frequent event with a cancer that was not localized on detection and had already spread to other areas. That is why chemo was started. Sorry for your husband's situation.

It varies quite a lo: It depends on the number of metastatic lesions and also if there is disease outside of the brain and also on the response to treatment. Not knowing any of these variables, i would say patients can live from 3 months on the short end to 12 to even 18 months. Occasionally the brain met can be resected surgically which can provide even a longer survival. So i can not be more precise.

No.: The most common sites of metastases include the bone marrow, lungs, and liver.  While uncommon, breast cancer can metastasize to the brain or the lining of the brain.

No: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome is an Autonomic nervous system problem, not in the brain. Epilepsy does come from the brain, but seizures do not kill any brain cells (with the rare exception of status epilepticus). In short, neither problem will kill brain cells--unless you do nothing to control them and they lead to disastrous complications. Take care!

NO!!: Seizures are a reaction of irritated cells of the brain.  When these cells seize their need for oxygen and glucose goes way up.  If given good support they recover nicely.  If poorly managed, damage can occur.  Many epilepsy patients suffer repeated seizures but are entirely normal between seizures.

: Brain lesions can cause all types of seizures dependent on location. It is not clear from your question if you know of having brain lesions or questioning if seizures may de due to undiagnosed brain lesions.

Surgery 4 seizures: Yes, brain surgery is done to help with certain types of epilepsy.  Seizures that are very difficult to treat are one indicator for this treatment.  Adults with seizures that originate in a small part of the brain (focal onset) are also candidates for this.
