Pinkeye treatment: Antibiotics are used to combat the infection. They should be taken for the length of time prescribed.  They generally can be stopped when the redness of the eye diminishes even if not absolutely gone as diminishing redness indicates successful overcoming of the infectious agent.

2-3 weeks: Usually pink eye or viral conjunctivitis is a self limited infection that clears up in 2-3 weeks.  Most medications are supportive and are used during the period of a few weeks.  It is considered most infections for the first week.  Only resume contacts once the pink eye has cleared and the eye is back to normal.  Also use a new set of contacts and a new case.

No: Not a good idea.  Wait until the eye clears up, maybe 3-4 days.

Eye drops or oral?: Dropperfuls of antibiotic.This can be very different. Usually if eye drops, it will help clear the pink eye quickly, and you will see some crust and need to wash it off. Keep your baby's towels completely separate from the rest of the family, or it can spread to you &amp; others.The crustiness will start clearing fairly quickly especially over the next 24-72 hours, you'll continue to see improvement.

: pink eye itself is a virus and antibiotics given for this do not treat the condition.  The correct treatment is palliative and i suggest to my patients to use artificial tears and take chicken soup.  As for contagiousness, I would say for at least a week since this disease is from the cold virus.  Get well soon.

Sometimes : Sometimes the drop itself can cause some irritation.  Finish up and give it a day or two and if still an issue go see your eye doctor once again.

: Acute conjunctivitis (pink eye) often is caused by viruses, not bacteria, therefore antibiotics have no effect. But it's often hard to know for sure, so antibiotics often are given. But your improvement so far may just be the natural course of a viral infection, and you might still be able to infect others. However, the risk will be low if you're careful about contact with coworkers.

STREP THROAT: STREP THROAT needs to be treated, to prevent Rheumatic Fever. If you have Penicillin allergy, Biaxin (clarithromycin) or azithromycin will work. PLEASE GET ANTIBIOTIC THERAPY.

Break from contacts: It is always a good idea to take a break from contact lenses until your eyes feel normal again. Also, if there is any associated iritation/redness/infection during the time you were wearing the lenses, it is a good idea to start with a new pair and replace the case. If any decrease in vision/pain/persistent redness then get an eye exam to make sure its not an ulcer
