Acute conjunctivitis (pink eye) often is caused by viruses, not bacteria, therefore antibiotics have no effect. But it's often hard to know for sure, so antibiotics often are given. But your improvement so far may just be the natural course of a viral infection, and you might still be able to infect others. However, the risk will be low if you're careful about contact with coworkers.
