Meditation: Hours  before an exam would not be a good time to take medications for anxiety. Meditation has been showed to be effective for handling anxiety, can be used anywhere and anytime, and can be learned easily. See if you can find a psychologist who could teach you this technique. feeling discomfort right in the middle of the rib cage. when i use one finger to press deep in, it's feel tense and bloated. could this be serious?

Needs to be Checked: You have chest discomfort along with breathlessness, stomach discomfort and pain.You need to be evaluated by your doctor.Need detailed history, physical exam and if indicated some tests to find out the cause of your symptoms

i have three thoratic herniated discs which tense my back. can i use a shiatsu massage cushion or would the movement of the pillow compromise the disc?

No: The movement of the pillow should have no effect on the disc. If the massage pillow gives you good temporary relief, it is something you can benefit from. Gentle range of motion and low-impact cardiovascular exercise are also important.

Consistent, Ongoing?: Sustained muscle contraction, all muscles, also compresses the blood vessels within which supply blood flow. Thus if the sustained contraction(s) are enough/recurrent vs. Blood flow, muscles cells become ischemic, go into anaerobic metabolism, secrete lactic acid, etc., & become sore, if still happening, even though not consciously aware while asleep/dreaming, then yes, this is quite consistent.

CALL MD: Klonopin (clonazepam) is a benzodiazepine type medication used for panic disorder, anxiety, restless legs syndrome etc.  Sometimes its is difficult to cut the dose so it is best to report problems to your doctor.

: Appears that you have a sleep disorder.  Although some atypical features, it might behoove you to have an evaluation for sleep apnea.  This could easily be proven or disproven by an overnight sleep study, but even a pulse oximeter nocturnal monitor might find helpful data.  See your local physician and proceed.
