YES: If you are severely anemic (hb<7.0 g/dl) then you may need a transfusion. You should also be taking iron and ferritin. Use professional quality sources for these supplement. In regards to exercise, do things you enjoy (e.g., walking or biking). Exercise videos are available for home use (e.g., aerobics). You can also bounce or jog in place on a small home trampoline. Gradually increase endurance.

Dx: If your A1c and fasting blood glucose are all within range there seems to be no need to check your blood glucose more than once a week. If the 'once a week" gives you bad results, go back to treatment. If not - check your blood sugar once a week. If that is OK - relax and enjoy.
If not, please see your primary doctor.

Metformin has little effect on food related rise in blood sugar.  It has many and still not well known actions.  A main one is to decrease overproduction of sugar by the liver – this is most prominent overnight – so usually advise metformin in PM take with food if upsets stomach.  Best - With extended release – entire dose in evening

Add one minute once a week to the jumping rope, then add two minutes a week once you get to 20, work your way up to 30 minutes a day. Numerous studies have shown that 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise per day is a minimum goal.
