Unfriendly?: Flu vaccines are approved for certain age groups depending on the qualities of each vaccine and the research data presented to the governmental agencies, such as the FDA in the US. Wouldn't call any flu shots unfriendly to infants. Flu shots should be given to all eligible children ages 6 months and older. Guidelines may be different for different countries.

i am concerned since my baby uses neocate as she has a cows milk protein allergy.

Hypophosphatemia: Neocate formula (according to an article in the Journal "Bone" 2017 has been associated with hypophosphatemia (low phosphate) and may be causing low bone density which can lead to fractures, ricketts, deformities and stunted growth. Additional studies at Yale and Mayo Clinic confirmed that the type of phosphate used in this formula is poorly absorbed. Supplemental Phosphate relieves the problem.

Be wary of boosters: Many supplements, foods, herbs, other plants, and techniques are claimed to "boost" the immune system, but none have been proven effective. The immune system is complex, and "boosting" it to make it act stronger is not always a good thing. In conditions like arthritis, thyroid disease, diabetes type 1, lupus, eczema, etc..., the immune system is over-acting and damaging the patient's own organs.

?: What type of protein is your baby allergic to? Most common is milk protein  and it can manifest as blood in stool in an otherwise normal, healthy baby. Alternatively a different type of allergy  can cause vomiting/ hives/ swelling / wheezing/ coughing etc. Which does your child have? Treatment varies for the different type of allergy although avoidance is the simple answer for both.

Protein recs: Generally speaking, the body needs a minimum of 1 gram of protein per kg of body weight per day. So a 70 kg (approx 150 lb) person needs 70 g of protein daily.

Protein foods : Eggs, meat, fish such as tuna or salmon, beans, for starters.

Whey is from milk: Whey protein is just protein from milk. Whey is nutritious in natural dairy products, and is not related to conceiving a baby. However, one should beware of eating eating/drinking too much processed whey, because that would be unnatural and its side effects uncertain.

Use a nonsoy formula: 10% or more of babies allergic to milk formula are allergic to soy.  If you are using soy formula for the above reason you may need to try a more elemental formula such as nutramigen or alimentum which do not have the major allergen in other milk based formulas.

Yum!!!: Yes, legumes are an excellent source of protein. Meat, poultry, and eggs are also excellent. If you need more help consult a dietician.

Accepted Answer

Yes: If she is indeed milk intolerant, these hydrolyzed formulas have similar components to regular formulas. Their protein source has just been partially broken down to avoid the bodies reaction to whole proteins. As she gets older her needs or true intolerances may become clear at a point where her size has increased to the point alternative feeds is not as risky.
