It is safe.: The only potential problem with donating too often is developing iron deficiency from the loss of blood.  The blood bank checks before taking blood to be sure you are not anemic.  If you plan to donate frequently, taking a multi-vitamin with iron is probably a good idea.  You are definitely saving lives when you donate blood.

is an ast 118 and alt 213 extremely dangerous high?  i have hereditary hemochromatosis and i know i drink too much.  i donate blood at least 4 times a year to help. is it so high that it wont come down from abstinence of alcohol?how bad r the result?

Must stop alcohol: If you have hemochromatosis it is essential that you abstain from alcohol, particularly if you have advanced fibrosis or cirrhosis. Alcohol can raise the transaminase levels (AST, ALT). It is important to know what your baseline levels are off of alcohol. If they are much lower then the chance of the numbers coming down will be likely off of alcohol.

See a doctor: This is quite a low hemoglobin level, indicating moderate anemia that could be dangerous if it gets any worse. Although it might be due only to iron deficiency, you must not assume that; you need a definite diagnosis by a doctor. Don't take chances of missing something more serious. Good luck!

my daughter is 22,weight 54,se donate blood in june 2019,on that day she faint en from there on until yesterday it happens 5 times.they test her blood her iron is normal,her bloodpressure is normal .dont no what to test next.

Complete eval needed: Would want to rule out any cardiac rhythm concerns as well as any neurologic concerns . Some people have a very sensitive autonomic nervous system . So it is worth a careful evaluation by those specialists . PCP should be able to refer and coordinate. best Wishes

Possibly: Every country has its own blood donation criteria, blood banks usually ask and test donors before accepting their donation. As for Toxoplasma to be transmitted through blood transfusion, the risk is very low, however better not to be transfused to pregnant ladies or immunosuppressed individuals. Likely other reason.: At this point in time, to my knowledge, hep a infection that has resolved is not an indication not to donate blood.  The immune system is effective and there is vaccination.  However, you may have had another infection/issue, like hepatitis c which has no vaccine, and can be transmitted.  Also, if you went to europe, you might have been exposed to "mad cow" disease, and cannot donate again.
