Fused Roots: It means the root support is conical in shape, making the tooth over the long run less stable than a tooth with divergent roots. The shape of the roots does not dictate the needs for extraction, but rather the long term prognosis and costs of a dental implant to be used in replacing it if it is extracted. Need to be patient: You need to give it a little time (sometimes a week or more). The nerves in the tooth are gone, but the nerves in the bone are still inflammed. Root canal therapy attempts to repair a really, really sick tooth... Give it a chance to heal.

If the chip is small, it an be smoothed and polished. If it's larger, it can be repaired. However, specifically for wisdom teeth, it's usually easier and more predictable just to remove the tooth. You'll never miss it.
