6 weeks: It depends on the surgeon since various types of suture can be used in this type of surgery. It will generally take about 6 weeks to 2 months, depending on the suture type, for the sutures to dissolve but it will take much longer for the healing process and post-operative changes to gradually resolve.

Depends: Mostly on the size of the original hydrocele. If it was very large it will take longer. Even with moderate hydroceles it can take several months after surgerry for the scrotum to shrink back down.

It is edema: Hydrocelectomy can be traumatic to the testicle and there can be more edema than you expected. The only way you can know for sure is to have your scrotum examined by your surgeon.

Post Op: This question, while valid and important, cannot be answered by anyone other than the surgeon who performed the surgery.  You were given specific instructions for the post operative period and when to contact your surgeon.   This sounds like a post operative complication and your surgeon must be made aware of your concerns.

Hydrocele: In general a "minimal hydrocele" does not need to be treated and would not likely benefit you in anyway. If it is a reactive hydrocele secondary to epididymitis or orchitis, treatment of the primary problem with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories would be preferred.

Be patient: I must assume your surgery was performed not long ago. Be patient, as the scrotum is very forgiving and will soften and normalize very soon. Significant scar tissue in the scrotum is most unusual.

No, for your...: How long has been after hydrocelectomy? From what stated, i would not recommend to reposition the stuck testis as long as being comfortable and palpable. Such postoperative condition does occur infrequently and usually requires no additional surgery except the one high in inguinal canal in children appearing like an impalpable un-descended testis.

Most likely: Most pediatric urologists ; surgeons fix hydroceles coincident with performing open non-mesh hernia repairs.

: Sometimes it takes time for the area of surgery to become normal . It should happen in 8-12 weeks. If not see the surgeon again.

: It is not unusual for scrotal swelling to take 3 or 4 weeks to resolve. Fluid may recur after aspiration of a hydrocele, but surgery usually is a permanent fix. If you're not sure of your postop status, see your urologist for evaluation.
