Yes may leave mark: Yes but this may leave a mark that should be protected from the sun. Silicone gel may help. Avoid tobacco use. Keep fresh wounds clean and lightly moistened.

Scratching: Depends on how much you scratched them.  If you were able to leave them alone they will fade in a few days, if there is a large abraded area, anywhere from a few weeks to a permanent scar if a large area was opened.

I'll bet so: Epidermis is a little bit thinner as we get older, making new scars easier to see. Don't worry about it.

Specialist: I am glad you are getting effective treatment and sorry it was delayed resulting in scarring. A dermatologist or plastic surgeon can address the scars. A hydroquinone bleach can perhaps help the pigment but it is iffy

Depends on site: Revision of scarring can be as simple as dermabrading to smooth surface or removal of the old scar with reduction of scar and redirection of positions.  Location, muscle pull, width/extent of scar, and axis of the scar compared to natural skin tension lines,  see a qualified plastic/cosmetic surgeon for evaluation, discussion of your options, and treatment planning to improve the site.

Ok if healed: If the scar is healed then getting wet is fine. If there is discharge, leaking or the wound is open, then dressing changes are used until healed. The more fat, the longer it can take to heal. Rarely, it needs to be closed at a second operation. The best thing to do is to check with your doctor.

Scars: Scars are permanent and some(fibrosis) are caused after months or years of inflammation while others occur more rapidly after injuries.

Lumps: Lumps on old scars are unusual but new scars can be lumpy due to keloid formation which is an abnormal thickening of scar tissue that some people tend to produce. Multiple lumps apart from scar tissue are often lipomas which are benign fatty tissue deposits. Your physician can evaluate and advise you.

Trust your doctor!: I don't know how you can expect any doctor here, who does not know you or your history, to render a different opinion that your own doctor who apparently saved your life. Certainly no one can tell you to ignore his or her advice. You might consult in person with another obstetrician but they would need access to all of your records and still won't be as qualified as the doctor who operated on you.

rotor cuff surgery i had my left should done last year, what i would like to know is it normal to be a 3inch scar that is on a bad angle, and sunk in, really bad at the top of scar.

Scars : Scars are inevitable following shoulder surgery. Yes, it is normal to have a 3 inch scar following a rotator cuff surgery, many patients have this result. There are creams that can be rubbed on the scar to reduce the unsightly appearance. Talk to your health care provider about prescribing something to help.
