Depends on site: Revision of scarring can be as simple as dermabrading to smooth surface or removal of the old scar with reduction of scar and redirection of positions. Location, muscle pull, width/extent of scar, and axis of the scar compared to natural skin tension lines, see a qualified plastic/cosmetic surgeon for evaluation, discussion of your options, and treatment planning to improve the site.

Many scar options: At 2.5 years the scar is mature, and not likely to change much more. While a scar can never be completely removed, there are many options, depending on the scar's size, location, color and texture. A board certified plastic surgeon can help you narrow down the best choices.
