Who said it's bad!: Straightening of the kyphosis or bend is not significant. Disc bulges are normal findings & seen more as we get older.  Schmorl's nodes are weak areas in bone allowing disc material to migrate into & are not necessarily bad findings either.  Make sure you have good lifestyle habits : not smoking, exercising  regularly and not being overweight.  Check your vitamin d level & have adequate  calcium.

: It should be determined why a young healthy person has kyphosis deformity of the spine. I recommend consulting an orthopedic specialist to evaluate &amp; treat your back and neck discomfort. X-Rays, MRI or even a bone density test may be ordered as part of the workup. Physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen may be prescribed depending upon the assessment.

First most do not : Need any surgery unless approaching a very significant degree of kyphosis with yours being a low normal range rather than an abnormal one.  Usually you need to be in the range of 70 degrees or more and be symptomatic otherwise this is generally well tolerated with weight control and regular exercise.

If painful vertebroplasty  is excellent. But you see your pcp for a diagnosis!
