It should be determined why a young healthy person has kyphosis deformity of the spine. I recommend consulting an orthopedic specialist to evaluate & treat your back and neck discomfort. X-Rays, MRI or even a bone density test may be ordered as part of the workup. Physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen may be prescribed depending upon the assessment.

You most likely have Scheuermann's disease, or Scheuermann's kyphosis, a condition in which an individual has too much curvature (or kyphosis) in the middle of the back. Kyphosis typically occurs during periods of accelerated growth during maturation of the spine. If the front of the spine doesn't grow as quickly as the back of the spine, the vertebrae become wedge-shaped producing this disorder.
