: If PEP doesn't work to prevent HIV, it can delay positive test results. However, there are no precise data on how long it can take. For the standard AgAb (4th generation, "combo") blood tests, most experts advise they are conclusive at 6 weeks, but some recommend 3 months. Note that this is after last dose of drug, not from the date of exposure. Time since exposure can be as long as 4 months.

No.: Go as soon as possible to the clinic.  HIV is not the only STD and the sooner you get treatment for any condition you may have acquired, the better the results will be.

: It is good that the test was negative. It is recommended to get a 4th gen combo test at 6 weeks after exposure. Please note that there are STDs that are not prevented by a condom, e.g., HPV, Herpes, Syphilis, LGV, pubic lice etc. It would be prudent to consult a doctor if you have any concerns.
