: At this stage there is no clinical reason why you should not persist with this habit. I suggest beng judicious and not apeearing for treatment while under the influence of the drug.

Complex: The root canal treatment is probably now recontaminated and usually will need to be 'retreated'. However, if this loosening has occurred, then it may be that there is not enough solid tooth to support the crown and biting forces. Might not be a good idea to fix this, but rather extract it and have an implant placed with a crown after 3 - 4 months. See prosthodontist for options. Good luck.

Tooth Covering: A crown, also referred to as a cap, is a covering that is placed over a tooth. Crowns are placed to protect a tooth from failure, such as breaking, or to replace parts of a missing tooth. A crown is permanently cemented to the tooth. If the crown falls off it can easily be recemented by a dentist.

Discuss: Discuss this with your Dentist.  Depends on the integrity of your remaining tooth structure and your occlusion.  Delay may allow adjacent and opposing teeth to collapse into area where crown integrity is compromised.  Delay may allow deterioration of temporary restoration.  Ask your Dentist.

Ask dentist ..: Your dentist will advise you on that depending on what he found when did xray and after actual root canal done. Pertinent things relevant may be extent of infected root, abscess, extent of manipulation with dental tools, etc.  In general, i would think at least a month.

Soon: You want to have a crown done as soon as you are free from symptoms from the root canal, usually within a month.  Talk to your dentist or endodontist about your particular tooth for the best timeframe for you.

Crown Ajustments: Good day;
    These days many crowns are constructed of ceramic materials. Root canal treatment can not be performed once these crowns are cemented.  You need to speak with your dentist before cementation. Older metal/ porcelain crowns may be temporarily cemented, if the tooth remains painful, endodontic treatment can be initiated without destroying the crown. Communicate with your dentist !!

2 weeks: 2 weeks is usually an adequate amount of time to wait before starting the permanent crown process. This allows any inflammation to subside, tooth should be pain-free, and gives time to confirm that the root canal is working.  However, waiting too long can be catastophic.  Depending on how much tooth is left, is you wait too long, the brittle tooth may break so badly it has to be extracted!

This : This can vary depending on the extent of the crown lenghtening and your body's ability to heal.  In my office we usually allow a minimum of 8 weeks for the tissue to heal before taking a final impression.
