Unknown: The type of nerve injury affects the recovery rate.  Whether it is stretched, bruised, cut, or otherwise damaged affects the recovery.  Nerves regenerate slowly after damage and generally "regrow" an average of 1mm/day.  So depending on the location of damage and how far to regrow can determine length of recovery.  In some cases, they never recover fully.

Accepted Answer

Higher risk: Post surgical patients in particular lower extremity surgeries have higher risk of DVT for up to 3-4 months following surgery. If you fly be sure to get up and walk every 30 minutes or so. Don't need aggressive anti coagulant therapy but should be on aspirin to reduce risk.

Let me explain: Femoral offset is the distance from the center of rotation of the femoral head to a line dissecting the long axis of the femur. In case of  total replacement hip the the offset  is considered  as the  distance from the center of rotation of the femoral head to a line bissecting the long axis of the stem.
 
Normal femoral offset varies  between 30 amd 60 mm.

had femoral osteotomy from perthese  with 2 screws done 10 years ago got my screws out yesterday, will my hip be strong like it was before?

Great question: I am assuming your procedure was done to help with joint alignment at the hip. It must've been successful if your surgeon was able to remove the screws. That you have not needed a hip replacement at this point is very good. Be sure to discuss your concerns with orthopedic surgeon as to the strength of your hip joint and any increased risk for arthritis of the joint later in life. Best of luck

Commonly done: Hip pin is commonly used to help treat SCFE.

Depends: Loosening of a hip prosthesis can be septic (caused by infection) or aseptic (mechanical loosening).  Finally, traumatic (i.e. Fracture from fall) may also cause loosening.  Your surgeon may order special blood work or radiology tests to determine the source.

: The wording suggests there is fluid separating the head of the femur from its slot in the hip. What this means in a given case is best interpreted by the doc who knows the complete history/exam and other test findings.

I don't understand--: The question fully, but the gist of it is, as i can make of it: ms rabbit79828 had a fx of the hip about 3 months ago ; the head part has gone on to develop avn. Probably the fx was too high ; was fixed. This is a well known complication of such fxs. 
Depending upon your symptoms, further treatments may be needed.
Are you having pain at rest or with weight bearing on that side?

xray of right hip shows unusual coarse calcifications adjacent to the femoral neck and lateral aspect of the ischium. is that just cppd? worry?

Accepted Answer

It is difficult: to tell based on limited info.  The differential of soft tissue calcification is extensive. CPPD is a potential etiology but there are many others, including calcium hydroxyapatite deposition(HADD).
