how can i know if buspar (buspirone) is proper working? feeling?

Less anxiety: If Buspar (buspirone) were working, symptoms of anxiety would be decreased.  Other people might notice it before you do.  Has anyone mentioned you seem better, more relaxed, etc.?  If it is not working, you won't feel better.  It can take several weeks for a given dose to take effect, and sometimes higher doses are required.  This should be monitored by a clinician.

Maybe: Generally, adding a new antidepressant on top of an existing treatment will require about 2 to 6 weeks to notice a positive effect.  A small number of people may feel effects sooner, but true beneficial effects take time. i keep having spontaneous muscle spasm since starting buspar (buspirone) and its getting worse longer i take it. what could be causing it.?

Buspar (buspirone): Unusual movements of the head & neck muscles has been reported as a side effect, related to dose increase or high dose. Please inform your prescribing doctor asap.

i was prescribed 2 tablets- 5mg each of buspar twice a day. they seem to be working but some stomach discomfort during the day. after a week i started 1 pill in the morning. holiday prevents calling dr. can i take just 1 during the day or 2 @ 8 am?

: Since you are already taking 1 tablet in morning and 2 at 8 PM.It is ok to continue same till you have a chance to talk to your Doctor.The Dose of Buspar depends on your response to the therapy.Starting.Usual starting dose is 15mgm per day in two divided doses of 7.5 mgm twice a day.And dose can be increased by 5 mgm a day if needed.Maximum dose is 60 mgm a day

Ask Dr.: Hopefully, doctors who use drugs for off-lable conditions either have read many supporting articles on the effectiveness and safety - and/or have established for themselves a good familiarity. Ask what they know. Being off-label - general publications don't address them. Finally, each may differ - discover how you feel and tell them.

Want off medication: I am not sure of  your age, so that  makes it difficult to answer your question.  Having an honest discussion with your doctor is needed, and this is also needed with your dad. The medication may be helping you, and this is likely why there is hesitation for you to come off the medication.  So, start  with an honest discussion with your dad and your doctor. Consider a slow taper of your medication

on celexa 20mg for 6 years.  it stopped working.  i have had 3 panic attacks.  primary doc added buspar 10 mg 2x/day 5 days ago.  experiencing increased nervousness, jitters, muscle twitch.  should i hold out as it does block a full panic.

Call physician: and describe side effects: you may benefit from small doses of beta- blocker and you may be experiencing side effects from Buspar.
