It depends, no: When someone has insomnia B12 is not the first treatment that comes to mind, but B12 is needed for our bodies to make melatonin which helps regulate sleep, so if you are deficient in B12 then taking it can improve sleep. 2500 mcg is totally safe; only a small fraction of B12 is absorbed no amount of B12 is known to be toxic. It's safe: You can take both medications .There has been trial of inisitol in ocd and you can take with vitamin B12

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, elevated B12 may be an indication of chronic inflammation, though B12 by itself is harmless.    Wish you good health!

Take effect?: I'm not sure what you mean by 'take effect.'  the only indication for vitamin B12 injection is for people with severe B12 deficiency or those who are unable to absorb B12 from their diet. That applies to very few people. If you're being given B12 injections for 'energy, ' you should be aware that's it's a commonly administered placebo.

Part reversible: Peripheral nerve damage is generally reversible and damage to central nervous system is usually not. Unless you have been a strict vegan, had stomach or small intestinal resection, Crohn disease for years, tape worm a few other things, it is unlikely that your disease is due to B12 deficiency. It would be prudent to consult a neurologist.

Wrong question: Why ask this? There is no toxic dose of B12. You will absorb only a tiny fraction of these very large doses.  Why are you taking it? Most of the time 250 will be about the same as 1000. You can take the 250mcg any time.Since this is in many foods and is even produced by intestinal bacteria, a clinical deficiency occurs only in special circumstances. Vegan diet. Depends: Depends on why you have a B12 deficiency in the first place. Some people, either from gastric bypass surgery or other reasons dont produce intrinsic factor which is  made in the stomach and is necessary for us to absorb B12 that we have taken orally. In those cases it takes a shot. In any case 1% of oral B12 is passively absorbed. Once absorbed our bodies are efficient replenishing and storing it.

Depends: At your age if your intestinal track works okay you eat fish, chicken or meat at least three times a week, and you don't take any medicines like a proton pump inhibitor like Prilosec for heartburn then you probably don't need any extra B12. Your doctor can confirm if you need.

What medication?: You haven&#x27;t supplied any info about the medication you&#x27;re talking about.  Although the risk to your health would be low, it&#x27;s hard to answer correctly without that info.
