: You should clarify what you meant by "my liver hurts". In general, doxycycline can still be used in patient with liver disease.

Probably not: If fatty liver is chronic  from being overweight for instance , it is probably safe to take Doxycycline . If you had recent liver injury causing the fatty liver,     there is a small risk of further liver injury from doxycycline. Keep in mind that most medications  are metabolized by  the liver and put a strain on this organ.  It usually is not long term  damage.

Yes indeed: Some people are sensitive to this stuff and get elevated liver enzymes from it. It's easy to find out -- your physician can recheck you after two weeks off the stuff. The tetracycline family of meds are great, especially for acne, and are life-savers in rickettsial disease, but there are other good substitutes for long-term if one's made you sick.

Yes: Yes, Doxycycline can indeed raise live enzymes, as can many safe drugs.  The question really is, how much are they elevated and how quickly do the come down after stopping it.  It would also be nice to know what your liver enzymes were prior to being on the doxy, if the baseline is available.

Himalaya's Liv52: There is no FDA approved testing that shows this item does anything for liver health or is safe for use under any condition.  Thus, there is no US literature that provides adequate assurances of safety while taking with doxycycline.  There is a body of literature from India and Europe that is focused on Liv52.

2-3 days: Doxycycline is relatively long acting. It probably takes 2-3 days to be entirely gone.

: By PDR: Photosensitivity reactions are believed to be due to accumulation of the drug in the skin and are mostly phototoxic in nature, but photoallergic reactions also can occur with select drugs. Reactions can develop from within a few minutes to up to several hours after exposure and will last for 1 to 2 days after discontinuation of the drug.

i took a preventative dose of 200mg doxycycline mono and was  able to to donate plasma.  did donating plasma take the antibiotics from my system?

Odd statement: They should not have collected your plasma if you took any antibiotics in the days prior to selling/donating this product. You place anyone who receives the material at risk of a life threatening allergic reaction if they have an allergy to that material. Yes, you pass some of the antibiotic into any body fluids.

how long will it take for one doxycycline capsule to exit my system?i took one yesterday and the tip of my tongue went numb and my lips is swollen so i decided to discontinue it . will i be okay coz the swelling has gone down but the slight numbness?

Varies: The half life is the calculated time for half of a drug to leave your system. This drug can take as long as 22 hrs to get rid of 1/2 (less for some people). In theory it takes 5-6 1/2 lives to remove it all which ~ 5 days.  Please report this to your doc so this can be recorded in your records. The real scary reactions happen within minutes/hours. You should be fine.
