Nothing is 100%: The vaccine for Hep B is about 90% effective. It is thought to last as long as 22 years. That being said, it covers all subtypes of Hep B and is worth getting for everyone. Remember, you don't have to have sex with or share needles with an infected person to get Hep B.

Should resolve: Side effects of the hepatitis A vaccine usually are mild. Soreness at the site of injection is common. Less commonly, recipients may complain of headache or fatigue, some nausea and abdominal discomfort.  This should not last more than week.  If it does, see your MD for assessment.  Remember that hepatitis A vaccine is two shots, spaced 6 months apart.  You may or may not have similar symptoms

: Find a new girlfriend, she could have more than HEP-B. At your age you don't any problems. She may decline to be tested and ask you to be tested for any diseases.

Finish when u can: Ther is no maximum interval between the required two doses.  So simply get the second dose whenever you are able.  You do not need to restart the series.

No risk, no worry: There has never been a case of HIV transmitted in this way; no risk at all. Also little or no risk for hepatitis B. Hep B vaccine gives protection for at least 10-20 years, probably for life.

No booster needed: Booster shots are never needed for hepatitis B, if the original vaccine regimen was completed (3 doses spaced 1-6 months apart). Recently published research confirms that even if no antibody at all is detected, protection against hepatitis B is complete and probably lifelong. No booster is needed. For sure there is no need if any antibody at all is detected. Discuss again with your doctor.

: This is somewhat controversial. After 10 years or longer, antibody from the vaccine sometimes is not detectable. Probably such persons are at least partially protected from hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection but it isn't certain. Most experts recommend revaccination to be maximally safe. You either can be revaccinated, or have an HBV antibody test to help decide. Good luck.

i took my 2nd dose of covid vaccine in 1st week of may. am currently due for my last dose of hepatitis b vaccine    is it okay to take it or should i wait till july so give it a good gap between the two vaccines?

: Current recommendations do not require a waiting period. Please review your schedule with your PCP and keep all vaccinations up to date.
