Loss of protection: You can always just do it and not lose anything. However, if you fail to complete the series, it is possible that you will not gain long term protection from the disease. If you don't care, the responsibility for whatever happens is yours.

Hepatitis vaccine: Hepatitis vaccines contain surface proteins of the hepatitis a or b virus that are given as an injection. After injection and absorbtion of the vaccination our immune system will develop antibody proteins that can attack the virus should we be exposed to the virus in the future. In order to have protection the 2 or 3 shot series must be completed.

Details?: Don't get hepatitis a or b vaccine if "moderately or severely" ill : fever, chills, 'flu-like' vomiting, diarrhea. If intense degree of illness puts you in bed, delay vaccine. Always ask your provider to be sure. You can be vaccinated if you have a cold, mild cough, etc. Avoid Hepatitis B Vaccine if life-threatening allergy to yeast. Avoid hepatitis a if severe allergy to latex.
