Probably longer: The bacteria that cause urinary tract infection -- with or without sepsis, kidney stone, etc -- are not caught from outside. Mostly they are entirely normal in the intestine, and it is likely you have carried the one that caused your sepsis in your intestinal tract for many years, perhaps your entire life. You'll probably never know for sure, and it probably doesn't matter.

have a tooth abscess being treated for it. but ive devolved leg and foot pain the last day or so. im also tired. can this be signs of sepsis? or is it in my head. i dont have a fever my bp is normal, normal 02 levels do you have to have a fever?

: A periapical tooth abcess is sepsis but I think it's localized in your case with no relationship to leg &amp; foot pain.  More description of this pain would help us give a cause for those symptoms. See your physician as needed.

Uncertain how common: Information on the approximate percentage of rocky mountain spotted fever patients who get sepsis is hard to find. Nowadays, with antibiotic treatment, the rmsf fatality rate is 4%. A rough guess on the percentage with sepsis could be 20%-25%.

Concern: It's definitely concerning. While I can't say for sure it's sepsis without other information including a blood culture and other information, it's possible you could be on your way to sepsis, especially given the fact you're on chemotherapy. I would highly suggest you get in touch with your treating physician or his/her on call physician this afternoon and discuss your symptoms with them.Good luck

Autoimmune: Rheumatic fever is a sequels of untreated streptococcal throat infection.  Body produces antibodies to the bacteria which can attack joints and heart valves as they share some protein structures with the bacteria.

Although it is rare: there are some very virulent organisms that can lead to sepsis within hours but rarely without some symptoms of some kind. Staphylococcal pneumonia, Gram negative bacteria and Meningitis are potentials for your scenario of sudden and overwhelming sepsis.

i have covid on day 4. i have such a congested head and fever. i have severe health anxiety. im scared of sepsis. when will things start to turn around? im wondering if i feel woozy in my head because its so full. not coughing at all?

: Usually by day 10, there is improvement. Stay well hydrated and monitor temperature and breathing. Nasal saline spray is often effective in reducing the symptom of congestion. Your headache may be related to sinus pressure. Watch for signs of shortness of breath.

: Shaking chills are often a prelude to a rise in body temperature. Sepsis is rare outside of ICU level illnesses &amp; features low blood pressure, lack of awareness because the blood pressure is not maintaining adequate brain blood flow among other symptoms. If you feel bad call your doc. Their guidance based on knowing you and your case should direct your actions.
