It is also important to pay attention to the volume, consistancy, timing and associated symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath.In general, darker is assocaited with more inflamatory responce that usually lightens up as the condition improves, with the improvement of the other symptoms noted above.In conclusion yes.

No: After someone stops smoking there will be a period of weeks of increase sputum production due to recovery of the function of your airways.  After six to eight weeks you should no longer have a productive cough/smokers cough.  Black sputum can be from certain bacterial/fungal infections ad you should let our healthcare provider know.

Probably normal: Although it's not common, some people seem to cough more than usual soon after stopping smoking. Tobacco smoking slows the normal movement of microscopic hairs that line your lungs. When you stop smoking, these hairs/cilia become active again. When active, they help clear mucus from your lungs. It should improve on own. Drink lots of water. See doc if persists &gt;2 months. not a problem: Congratulations for quitting - this a great thing you have done for your health. Not sure how much you smoked, or how long, but quitting does help any changes in your upper airway to recover fully. Some smokers have a cough when they stop because the 'cilia' in the windpipe come back to life! if you have no problems after quitting, great! stay off for good :-).

Depends: Are you a regular cigarette smoker?  If your use of Marijuana was heavy, then your lungs may have some gunk to clean out.  If this goes on for more than a week or so, you may need your family doc to evaluate your lungs.

Keep non smoking: If you have no exposure history to COVID 19, your cough is probably not infection. keep up the good work and do not smoke or vape.

i quit smoking 10 cigs a day, to social smoking 10 cigs a  week on a friday night.
every week or so, i cough once or twice and can taste a little blood but can never see any actual blood, im a gym user 3 times a week minimum roughly 6 hours a week

A bit odd, but: If there are no other symptoms, you could give it a bit longer - but those colors do sound strange. Even many active smokers don't have that. An exam would help you not worry unnecessarily and get you a lot of congratulations for quitting. Doctors love to hear that!

The first thing I'd: recommend is to insure that you are drinking at least 64 ounces of water per day. You need to insure that there is enough moisture .
