Yes it is a cancer: Adenocarcinoma is one type of common Cancer which can arise from any gland forming organ such as Breast, Colon and lung. If left untreated for a long time, cancer cells spread and can involve regional lymph nodes and later spread to the internal organs. I hope you are under the care of a cancer specialist(Oncologist) who can guide you further and offer the required treatments.

my father has metastatic melanoma, 1 lymph node involvement. pet scan and ct scan shows no other metastasis at this time.  does this mean he is cured?

I am sorry... : To hear about your father. Melanoma is a horribly unpredictable cancer. It can show up six months or six years after the original treatment and can be literally anywhere in the body. Unfortunately there are no studies that can show microscopic disease. I advise  my cancer patients to give their immune system the best chance to do its job by eating healthy,  getting enough sleep, and  stay fit.

if chemotherapy fails what options lfd metastic colon cancer? mets to liver , peritoneal , lymph node ?

Experimental therapy: Some cancer centers do research on patients with aggressive cancers or cancers who do not respond to usual treatment.

Although after chemotherapy, there are not very many options and people would like to keep patients as comfortable as possible.

Why do you ask?: "Fairly fast growing tumor" is not a term used in medicine. Cancers are unpredictable and deadly. The change in size might be within the variability of the scan to read and it could be stable for now. Many chest cancers grow much faster. The key is to discuss the case with physicians you trust getting a consult if you feel you need one.

could i have waldenstrm macroglobulinaemia without having a cancerous lymph node? i have a pair of nodes which haven't changed in 2 years. i also experience light heads when i raise my head too fast?

: No. If the lymph nodes have not grown in two years, you do not have lymphoma or Waldenstrom. You can watch and wait. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Hard to tell: Pain is not a specific symptom of cancer recurrence. Although, you are at a definitely high risk for cancer recurrence, it doesn't mean the pain is 100% cancer related one. I would get a consult from your oncologist on that.

We'll see: I'm sorry that your cancer was not recognized and treated effectively in a timely way. These skin squamous cancers are famously slow to metastasize to the nodes, but i hope it can be removed promptly. There's no definite predicting. Best wishes.

i am having laser tattoo removal on the back of my neck. i had my first session two weeks ago , its healing very well however i noticed a round hard painful lump at the base of my skull back of neck. swollen lymph node??

: You are likely correct. Any disturbance of the skin surface as would be in tattoo removal may trigger enlargement of local nodes that can persist for a few weeks.
