Lupus and bladder: Lupus is a systemic autoimmune illness with relapses and remissions.  It can involve joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood, or brain.  When it affects the kidneys, it causes inflammation and makes them unable to remove waste from your body.  The bladder lining can become inflamed also, causing lupus cystitis -- with frequent urination, abdominal discomfort, bloody urine, etc.

If you need to have gallbladder surgery due to gallstones that are causing abdominal discomforts, then yes, surgery may be indicated if your doctors are in agreement. Depends on your overall health, medications & surgical risks. If you are asking about gallbladder surgery to prevent a potential future illness due to lupus, then no, surgery is not indicated.

Hunner's?: Both lupus and hunner's intersyitial cystitis are miserable diseases and unfortunately both are common. If you have taken Cyclophosphamide for your lupus, this might also be a consideration -- check with your urologist and ask if i'm right. I wish you the very best luck in getting effective treatment.

in 1986 i had a hysterictomy and later ovaries removed. i have lupus & mg & had a few months last year of off/on light bleeding.had a full work up of bladder & kidneys. now 2 days heavy bleed/w clots?

Bleeding: You should not have bleeding if you have had a hysterectomy.  I would be concerned about a vaginal problem.  Get this checked.

no + lupus labs. have all symptoms.  what else could it be. no emotional  dr's say. talking w/all my ologists dr's. no bladder  uti but gross hematuri?

Cannot diagnose: Without seeing you and having your records, history and exam it is impossible to comment.  Suggest that the best course of action would be to find a good general internist and let them monitor your evaluation. Have no idea what symptoms you may be referring to. Gross hematuria suggests acute infection, tuberculosis or malignancy. Go and get seen, good luck.

Steatorrhea : Many causes: pancreatic (exocrine insufficiency); celiac disease; sbbo/sibo; bowel resection/short bowel syndrome; bile acid malabsorption; certain medications; history of chemo/xrrt; systemic disease such as scleroderma & pbc have also been associated with fat malabsorption. Because each of these conditions can have specific and different treatments, determining the exact etiology is important.

Anxiety/ tension headache, allergy histamine headaches, bulging or herniated cervical discs, post traumatic head injury, post concussion syndrome, migraines, menstrual induced migraines, brain rumors, cerebral aneurysm, sinusitis, vision difficulties, poorly controlled hypertension, hyperthyroidism, brain abscess, pituitary rumors, levtemperature.

M.D. visit: I would suggest drinking clear liquids, avoiding dairy and having repeat testing to include a CBC, diff, plts and hepatitis panel. A follow up appt with your PCP or specialist is indicated. The wt loss is significant, but may in part be due to fluid loss.

Drug side effect: You may only be constipated. Rituxan (rituximab) is a monoclonal antibody used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (ra). Abdominal pain is a common side-effect of this drug. Bowel obstruction and perforation have been reported much less frequently but can be much more serious. Persistent abdominal pain is a symptom you should report to the physician who prescribed rituxan.
