The hostile abdomen with prior operations, adhesions, short bowel, and other scarring is higher risk!

i have irregular bowel movements all the time. this has been going on for years. my doctors have done the usual checks and given laxatives but nothing works long-term. i think i have a tear or kink in my colon, how do i get this sorted please advise?

: You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods.

how do you fix a kink in your intestine?

Caution...: Not sure what you are referring to as a "kink" but when doctors use this term they are usually describing a redundant colon or large intestine.  This means there are more folds or twists in the colon than normal.  Another type of "kink" might mean there are adhesions in the abdomen causing fixation of the intestine.  This frequently comes to light after a difficult colonoscopy exam.

Nothing: Unless you are having symptoms of bowel obstruction. Usually the kink is due to prior abdominal surgery and adhesions. The obstruction can be partial, intermittent or complete, the latter usually requiring surgical correction and the former two usual respond to bowel rest in the hospital for 1-3 days.

Keep a log: One way would be to keep a record of dates and times of the events. This may also help with identifying any patterns, especially if certain foods are being eaten or certain stressors encountered frequently when the bouts are especially bad. By keeping the record you have an accurate log of events and do not have to try to remember which can sometimes be difficult if there are many.

i have pots syndrome & hypermobility syndrome. all of muscles are weak. i have trouble pooping, controlling my bladder and bowel. no doctor knows why.

Something missing: POTS and hypermobility synd should not cause probs with bowel/bladder control.  Would start with seeing neurologist as the bowel/bladder problem could be sign of neurologic problem.  Please see neurologist and explain exactly what you posted here. Swollen abdomen: Depending on the degree of obstruction and site, the abdomen enlarges, no passing of gas noted, developing of abdominal pain and possible vomiting depending on how distal the obstruction is.

Severe abdomen pain: Also very distended belly, no bowel movements. Possible fever, vomiting.
