i talked to one of your doctors yesterday. he said he was going to send in a prescription my pharmacy has not received anything yet. how long does that normally take?

is it legal for a doctor to directly sell a medication to you (instead of sending you to a pharmacy with the prescription)?

Yes but ethical?: It is legal but there are ethical issues.  Doctors often do it to make more money.  It can be more convenient (avoid a trip to the pharmacy), but it can encourage overprescribing too.  If your doc is doing a lot of it, and if it involves a lot of expensive medications, while avoiding the generics, it may suggest a problem.

i am curious to how health tap can help me with prescriptions, after a consultation can the doctor write a prescription and send it through the mail.

Ask the doctor: The only way to know for sure would be to call the doctor's office and ask them if the prescription has been sent yet.  If it has been sent, then you can call the pharmacy and ask them how much longer it will be.

i was told to take doxycycline for my chalymidia, but how do you guys give me meds?? do the doctors on here send a prescription to my pharmacy?

Not on this site: The public Healthtap site is an information source.If you actually read the site info you will know we do not diagnose or treat anything from this platform.If you sign up for Healthtap Prime, and find a willing doc they do provide some services as paid consultations.However, if you believe you have chlamydia, you need proper testing/exam to confirm this and see if additional STD's need treatment.

macrobid nitrofurantoin i was prescribed but im allergic to it. where do i go back to send i message for the doctor to change my prescription? usually they give me azithromyzin?

: You have to call the office you have received your treatment through, if HealthTap paid urgent care call the help desk as another consult may be needed. Best would be to establish with primary care, either HealthTap or in person as continuity of care will be critical going forward.

i found out today by doctors nurse that my vitamin d is very low and they're sending me a prescription supplement! is this why i have tingly feet?

Potentially: If it does not respond to supplementation, a nerve conduction test would potentially help find the cause.

Changing physician: Discuss with both providers. Ask original  provider to prescribe enough medication to bridge time between providers. Take care.

Some.: A doctor licensed in your state can prescribe you medications, at their discretion of course.  But we cannot prescribe controlled substances under any circumstances.
