Not usually: When having an amniocentesis we use ultrasound to help us guide the needle into the correct area. Of course you have to consider experience when having an amniocentesis done. A physician with  experience usually can perform an amniocentesis with one puncture.

Not OK: Using someone else's syringe, flushed or not, can expose you to blood borne infections such as hep B, hep C, and HIV. Suggest you see a doctor for testing. Post exposure prophylaxis may be effective if given immediately after the exposure.

: If the needle is contaminated with fresh, HIV + blood, the risk of getting disease will be around 3 per 1,000 (0.3%). Good luck.

Vague: Does this occur after activity or just on its own?  Have you had any type of injury to your back.  Is there any hint of what is called "foot drop," where you can lower the foot, but have a hard time raising?  If in doubt, see a Dr.

See a doctor: You may have a radiculopathy in your back, a compressed deep peroneal nerve, a small shoe, the beginings of neuropathy from something i.E diabetes (idiopathic neuropathy in 50% of cases).

It is essentially: a foreign body. Her body could be trying to wall it off or she could have an infection.  It sounds like her drug use is out of control. Please encourage her to have this lump evaluated and to get into a good detox program. Take care.

i have a have a sharp needle like pain on the tip of my big toe. i went to the doctor and he used a silver nitrate stick on it. it still hurts.

Toe pain: Do you have anything else other than the pain? It is not clear from your post as to why silver nitrate was used. It's not used for pain. You do need an exam of your toe because without it, it's essentially impossible to arrive to a correct diagnosis.

popped a big blackhead on my nose .used a needle b4 school then tweezers and my finger.it bled. and its red and its been a day is it infected?

Be kind to your skin: Manipulating your skin can certainly introduce infection.  Or just a lot of irritation.  Wash the area with soap and water and pat dry.  Keep your hands away from the area.   The redness should subside in a day or two.  Please don't abuse comedones - you can cause infections and scarring.

had blood taken. painful, a burning/abrasive feeling where the needle entered. arm felt choked, tingled and went numb. i have big veins. phlebotomist used guage25, filing 1 vacutainer took ages. i was hydrated, alcohol evaporated. it felt wrong, why?
