Be kind to your skin: Manipulating your skin can certainly introduce infection. Or just a lot of irritation. Wash the area with soap and water and pat dry. Keep your hands away from the area. The redness should subside in a day or two. Please don't abuse comedones - you can cause infections and scarring.

Signs of Infection: If the site is increasingly swollen, warm to the touch and discharge is observed infection is possible. Can you provide a photo? I recommend seeing your local physician.
