i have irritant contact dermatitis due to unknown allergen in paint (office painted 6+ months ago and i've been getting hives,blisters&itching ever since). face&soft skin gets affected the most. is there desensitising injections available?

See doc.: you need to see a dermatologist or allergist to be tested in order to determine the exact cause. sometimes, in certain cases, injections might be beneficial.

my 6yo has started getting severe rash/hives/blisters on contact with items including new clothes & plastic pool noodles. mild,less angry rashes inbetween. we are referred to a derm but its a long wait (uk). anything we should avoid meanwhile?

: This sounds like contact dermatitis and you need to try to avoid whatever makes the rash occur, as difficult as this likely is. Find a mild detergent that hopefully doesn’t result in the rash and don’t change detergents. You could try a hydrocortisone cream that you can get over the counter for the more severe rash areas. Diff  appearance: hives are raised bumps that are  transient as they come and go....blisters are fluid filled and stay

See doctor: Your blisters in hives could be due to many things.  This could be an allergic reaction or contact dermatitis from a new soap or laundry detergent, watch/ bracelet or article of clothing.  It could be from poison oak or poison ivy or shingles.  I would need more information and to examine you.

Yes: The question of whether you can have scabies is simple...Yes.  These infections typically involve 4-6 mites.  They can cause amazing rashes.  You can do a shaved skin bx for diagnosis or find a burrowing tract.  I've been fooled several times by scabies so its not a total no-brain er.  Ivermectin oral or Permethrin topcal is used to eradicate it.

Maybe: You don't mention what your baby is allergic to, but ideally yes an allergic reaction cen get worse with repeated exposure.

i took yerba mate, guarana, damiana in supplement for 3 weeks but had an allergic reaction. blisters & hives in legs. when will it get out system?

1-2 wks: If the problem is really from the supplements, then I would expect that the hives will subside within days but the blisters in 1-2 weeks. This is a reminder that not all things organic are harmless.

Overactive: Sympathetic nervous system. It might be genetic but the hives suggests that it might be as simple as poor diet because that affects the control mechanisms in the lower brain.Sugar is often the villain.

i have been treated for scabbies with ivermectin and permethrin. it seemed to have gotten rid of them but i still have itching .my scalp a itches like crazy with no rash no real rash ,looks like hives and occasional clear blister . is this norm?

: I'm so sorry! Itching is awful! Scabies can itch for 2 weeks after treatment, have to wait for all the scabies bugs and eggs to not only be dead but to be completely gone. Antihistamines like Loratadine in the day or diphenhydramine at night can help. If it has been longer than 2 weeks, I would look for other causes including things like eczema.
