Varies: The whole question did not come through.  If you are having pain running down your leg into your foot after a hip replacement, it would usually either be related to an irritation if a nerve in the back, or that same nerve can also potentially be stretched during your hip replacement.  I would discuss directly with your surgeon.

11 weeks after my hip replacement i still get severe tendon / muscle spasm  in the inner thigh. i was told its because i've been over doing things ?

Post hip operation: You shold not be having severe muscle spasms .   Something is not right.  Best to see your surgeon for a re check to see what is wrong.

See your surgeon: Are you asking what you should do for your muscle spasms or are you asking if your greater trochanter ostetomy or fracture is the culprit? If your spasms in your thigh are frequent and/ or worsening or associated w/ weight bearing than see your treating orthopedic surgeon for treatment. Best of luck!

: Likely question to ask is whether the thigh problem is due to disuse atrophy or nerve problem associated with prior surgery.  An EMG study can help sort this out, and could be easily done prior to further surgery.

Ask your doctor: I posit you'll be able to do many of the same activities you did before the hip surgery, if not more since you are not in pain, i hope.  But you should always ask your surgeon before doing anything to make sure your body and procedure heal so you avoid complications.

Post Op Care: Most likely yes. But none of us here can see what the post op instructions from your surgeon were or what the complications were or are to your surgery and your health.  Surgeons would never let you leave the hospital without specific post op instructions.

PT consult: is necessary for a comprehesive rehabilitation program. Most will start with gentle, passive range of motion coupleled with ultrasound or heat treatments. No vigorous walking, lifting, bending or aerobics until cleared by PT.

Water excercises: Water naturally reduces the effects of gravity on worn out joints.  The other benefits include quick removal of excess heat during exercise.

Exercise: Exercise is generally a good thing.  You could continue your NSAID medications and start slowly and gradually increase your work time.  If you slowly get stronger with low impact exercise, you should be able to handle the nanny job well.
