Possible: 6 weeks of swelling of lymph glands is not the normal thing to occur.   This needs to be re evaluated.

At the same time the hip and knee pain can be addressed

Unless you are aware of some process which might have stimulated their appearance, it would be a good idea to have them seen by your local doctor.

Any nearby infection: Any nearby infection (leg, genitals, lower abdomen, or skin infection) can cause swelling of the inguinal lymph nodes.  I would recommend seeing your doctor to determine where the infection is coming from and get appropriate treatment!  Hope you feel better soon!
