Immunoglobulins:: High igg means the person was exposed to the infective agent in the past or got vaccination against it, means immunity against it. High igm means, the person has new exposure or infection now. Eb virus causes mono, infects 95% of world population, 1/3rd. Cases occur during adolescence and young adulthood,  virus shed in oral secretions &gt;6mo after an infection.

Remote infection: Igm is the first class of antibody made to a microbe and after several months the immune system starts to make igg class of antibodies and then the immune system stops making igm. If all that is found is igg to a particular microbe it means that you were infected over about 6 months to many years previously.

See a specialist: You don't tell me how you were found to have that high level. If you have no symptoms to go with that finding and other laboratory blood tests are normal, you probably have what is called monoclonal gammopathy. If you have symptoms or tests are affected, there are several possible diagnosis. For proper evaluation, see an immunologist or hematologist.

: These are normal results, found in most healthy adults. Everybody is infected with CMV at one time or another, usually in childhood. Once anti-CMV IgG antibody is present, it usually persists for life.

It might be a benign: Many benign processed can cause hypergammaglobulinemia, which are benign elevations without a para -protein or m-spike on serum protein electrophoresis(spe)&gt; it all depends on how high is the gammaglobulin level and making sure the liver functions are ok and there is no chronic inflammation(like rheumatoid arthritis, sarcoidosis etc) going on  inside the body.

Useless test: K/L ratio is not a useful test. About one third of patients without monoclonal immunoglboulin have an abnormal ratio, usually with kappa excess.
