HIGH HDL=Good!: If you Hdl is high, that is good, and can decrease your overall risk for heart disease.  our LDL as noted is stable at 86, but now there is new data to suggest you should get a risk calculation based on some other factors.  See your dr. for a good eval and discussion as to whether you need any medications, etc.

what can i do if my cholesterol test resulted high: ldl 143.4, hdl 80.5, cholesterol 202, should i get worried?

Depends: Your LDL is little high (risk is increased) but your HDL ("good" cholesterol) is extremely high (risk is reduced). Moreover, your total cholesterol to HDL ratio is 1.75 - this is extremely favorable. If other risk factors are ok (no hx  of heart attack, diabetes, non-smoker, normal bp), i would consider this to be highly favorable and certainly would not recommend treatment with medication.

i have a high lpa. have you heard if using low does estrogen to lower this? my cholesterol is 188 and i have great hdl and ldl

Lipoprotein (a),: as you know, is a lipoprotein subclass. It seems to be an independent risk factor for atherosclerotic disease. The only drug currently recommended for elevated Lp(a) is niacin. The effect of estrogen on Lp(a) is unclear: there is some evidence that ERT is associated with lower Lp(a) levels, but whether risk is lowered is questionable. Would not take ERT for this purpose alone. Best wishes.

i eat pretty good but my cholesterol is next to high hdl 75 ldl 148 what can i eat to help bring it down. i am not over weight?

Pretty good?: If you would like to remain off cholesterol medication, your diet needs to be better than just pretty good.  Strict low fat with minimal carb, high fiber diet.  If doing the best you can doesn't get you.

Yes, you're right: The numbers you submit add up to a total cholesterol of about 250 mg/dl, not 200. But usually our treatment decisions are based on LDL anyway. If, on another measurement, your LDL was 127, what we would expect with a total cholesterol of 200, lifestyle, i.e. diet and exercise, should be sufficient. However, if you have significant heart disease risk, LDL goal is &lt;100 and meds may be needed.

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, none of the results are a cause for immediate concern. If you are overweight losing weight, through diet and exercise will help.

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your lab results are not a cause for concern.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Depends on Particles: Usually not. But, cardiovascular (cvd) risk is related to the number of LDL particles (ldl-p) and HDL particles (hdl-p). Because cholesterol in LDL and HDL particles is highly variable cholesterol levels often disagree with particle number. When cholesterol and particle number disagree cvd risk tracks with ldl-p and hdl-p, not ldl-c or hdl-c. Only an NMR lipoprofile test reports ldl-p and hdl-p.

my triglycerides level is high....but cholesterol is awesome!  hdl is high, ldl low.... what could be going on?

Hypertriglyceridemia: ARE  KNOWN , SEPARATE LIPID DISORDERS some of which are FAMILIAL and ALL OF WHICH must be treated just as aggressively as CHOLESTEROL problems!
