Groin pain:  Can't say. You need a physical exam and a comprehensive history to get an accurate answer.

Usually: Postop pain is very common. If it gets severe, though, you need to see your surgeon.

Second opinion?: Give it some more time - 12 weeks after surgery as long as its not debilitating. If it is still causing problems, and you're not getting a satisfactory explanation, consider a second opinion form a surgeon interested in hernia disease. One year: post-operatively and I assume with no issues and with sudden burning and pain is usually not as a result of the repair.  I agree you should see either your doctor or the surgeon soon, or if symptoms are bad enough by all means go to the ED.

Strange,: As my belief was that maybe the pain was due to a peripheral nerve possibly caught in scar tissue. If the injection was in proper place but did not help i would go back to the surgeon -if he was not "the injector:"- let him/her examine you. First one have to eliminate that the complaint id from the surgery before looking for other possibilities.

i had a ingunal hernia repair 3 weeks ago.  the surgon did it open. i still have burning pain hard to get oob and a lump under incison site is this ok?

Probably: It is not unusual  to have pain 3 weeks after open hernia repair. The burning you feel could be the nerve and his too can be normal in the first few weeks.  Both should be improving rather than worsening. If either of these are worsening or not improving over the next few weeks see your surgeon.

C Ur Surgeon First: Burning pain is typical of nerve irritation which is not uncommon following hernia repair. While this usually resolves within 6 months, it's persistence warrants intervention. I recommend that you see your surgeon just to be certain that no recurrence exists. If not, it would be appropriate to see a chronic pain specialist. They can identify the responsible nerve and deaden it.

No restrictions: 7 months after repair of hernia you should be able to do every thing what you used to do .  Excessive activity might have irritated , will disappear  soon. See your surgeon for post OP follow  and to make sure no recurrence .  Don't worry you will be fine .
