They have low pressure so bleeding should stop quickly though there may be some spotting.   The best treatment is to minimize squeezing during bms by keeping them soft.  Use medicines  that reduce internal anal swelling.

The symptoms from  uncomplicated hemorrhoids is usually bright red blood seen on the toilet paper or in the toilet bowl.   The other problem is, like any other vein, they can clot.  This can be very painful.  The cure for this to have the hemorrhoid incised and the clot removed.  This is an office procedure.

Thrombosed?: Usually hemorrhoids are soft, but when they clot, or thrombose, they become painful and hard.  Since I am not sure what you mean by a "bump", if it does not go away in a couple of weeks with warm baths and local ointments, you may want to see a colorectal or general surgeon to diagnose what the problem might be.
