A pain in the butt: Hemorrhoids are dilated veins. They are part of the price we pay for walking erect. The symptoms from uncomplicated hemorrhoids is usually bright red blood seen on the toilet paper or in the toilet bowl. The other problem is, like any other vein, they can clot. This can be very painful. The cure for this to have the hemorrhoid incised and the clot removed. This is an office procedure.
