Thrombosed?: Usually hemorrhoids are soft, but when they clot, or thrombose, they become painful and hard. Since I am not sure what you mean by a "bump", if it does not go away in a couple of weeks with warm baths and local ointments, you may want to see a colorectal or general surgeon to diagnose what the problem might be.
