Which feels better: Which feels better? WE use  ice for acute  injury. Then heat  after  36  hours. But for chronic pain either  can work.

how to deal with arm/hand nerve pain flare ups if cold and heat both make it worse..other than pain medications. it gets shaky/ weak and my pinky becomes purple/blue. it gets to the point i can't even hold a pen?

: The color change you describe usually indicates a circulatory issue, possibly Raynaud’s phenomenon (spasm of blood vessel- usually happens with cold exposure) , though there may also be a neurological issue.  A full evaluation of the nerves &amp; vessels of the arm &amp; hand is important.  A calcium channel blocker medication can often help Raynaud’s symptoms

besides hot water bottles, what is the best way to apply heat to the lower back to soothe nerve pain?

Towels; heating pads: Bath towels soaked in hot water, wrung out, & placed in plastic bag & then between thin layer of cloth (to prevent burns) will help sooth back muscles & nerves. There are also heating pads available which safely incorporate a moist component to sooth/relax pain & spasm.

7wk postsurgery for torn rotator cuff, nerve impingement, bone spur ground off&labrum repaired. my thumb,hand,forearm are swollen.have burning nerve pain.hurts bad to move wrist wrong. in pt. been icing and heating. how can i reduce swelling&pain?

are there any medications for heat intolerance?  i have severe heat intolerance due to autonomic neuropathy (30 years of type 1 diabetes).  i am only comfortable when an ac is blowing cold air on me.

No: Control environment   Wear thin loss cloths and may need to be naked while in house and drink plenty of cold water. Avoid exposure to heat. Presume work up for Thyroid abnormalities was negative

Neuropathic pain: Not clear from your question, but you may be having problems with trigeminal neuralgia (tic douloureux). The trigeminal nerve supplies the forehead, cheek and jaw but not the neck.  It can be worsened with exposure to wind.  It is treatable. See your MD for evaluation and reatment of your problem.

i've been on gabapentin at an increasing dosage for 2yrs. at 3200mg/day for nerve pain. stopped cold turkey.  would this cause nausea? other affects?

YES!!: Always taper off a medication to avoid withdrawal symptoms. 3200mg is a significant dose and a reduction would have avoided these issues.

Start over: You forgot to indicate why you were using this very expensive combination. The calcipotriene component is very expensive but usually adds very little effect. This cream has no effect against hives or nerve pain: these symptoms are not due to loss of dovebet. Submit a question that someone can answer. The diagnosis is everything.

there is hard lump due to injection under my skin in right buttock even after a month.this injection has given for nerve pain.the lump is slightly painful when i press it.how to get rid of this lump?hot or cold compress? will it dissolve on it's own?

: I suspect that a blood clot formed under the skin and has hardened. These hematomas don't usually dissolve.. These clots aren't dangerous but occasionally, because of persistent tenderness, have to be removed by a surgeon through a small incision.
