Tooth erosion : Gerd melts teeth with a huge increase in decay activity. Often referred to as indigestion, is often recommended to be treated with Tums (calcium carbonate) on a symptomatic basis. Beware: each tablet contains cavity causing sucrose. Stomach acid burns the esophagus throat and tongue. These burns can, over time, convert to cancerous lesions. Seek  gastroenterologist eval--especially if teeth are worn or chipping.

Chest &amp; abdominal pa: Your son need to be reevaluated &amp; have work up done, his  B/P is low &amp; pulse is elevated, most likey it is a gastrointestinal  problem,  possible  dehydration  propably  not taking enough fluids,  you can go to ER, he will also need a gastroentrologist consult, chest pain is most likey  from the stomach but it also has to be addressed, I'm concerned  obout possible blood loos from GI tract. Not more effective: Within the category of proton pump inhibitors. It is a more potent acid inhibitor than tums, zantac, Pepcid and cimetidine, but so are omeprazole, nexium, (esomeprazole) protonix, etc.
Ultimately, it is about which one works the best for you.

: Yes, you still might have a copay. Best would be through your primary care doc who has proper documentation, allergies, previous drugs tried and so on.

my uncle is on cyclobenzaprine and heartburn meds. he has had a migraine for a week. is it okay for him to take imitrex (sumatriptan)? he also has high bp.

Migraine for a week?: Generally, you want to take a triptan for migraines asap at onset of migraine.  Having a migraine for a week is quite odd.  I personally prefer newer triptans with longer 1/2 lives like frova, relpax, (eletriptan) or zomig....I also prefer treximet over just plain imitrix.  If his blood pressure is controlled and does not have any present heart disease, okay to try. Expect warm pressure around head ; neck.

Probably opposite: Aciphex (rabeprazole) may help with acid reflux. Reflux could  lead to such symptoms. Anyway, if symptoms persist on aciphex, (rabeprazole) should see GI or ent.

Probably not: Any medication could potentially cause any side effect.  The ones you mentioned are not common for antacids.  However, acid reflux can cause coughing and a tickle in the throat.  So, it may be the underlying condition rather than the medication which is causing the symptoms.

Yes: Should not be a major problem, particularly with metronidazole.

Since I: don't know what medication you discontinued or for what reasons, it's impossible to say. Generally, however, a testosterone gel, titrated to the proper dose, is the most recommended therapy. Discuss w/your doctor.
