Not more effective: Within the category of proton pump inhibitors. It is a more potent acid inhibitor than tums, zantac, Pepcid and cimetidine, but so are omeprazole, nexium, (esomeprazole) protonix, etc. Ultimately, it is about which one works the best for you.
