Depends: Usually cysts smaller than 5 mm there are no worry. At the size you mention, this is large and may require intervention if there is compression of adjacent structure or the aqueduct.best to discuss with your doctor.

It is possible,: but unless an acute intracranial bleed is  a clinical consideration, very unlikely that a Head CT scan would add much value.  CT of the sinuses may be helpful if sinusitis is a possibility.

Anonymous: Your medical record is confidential, other than regulatory/legal requirements, can't be released without your consent.It would be a violation of ethics and federal law. At my hospital, it is grounds for immediate termination. A legit facility won't scan you anonymously. If your doctor wants you to have a scan, if you can, go one town over where you are not known, if you are not comfortable local.

MRI vs CT: MRI creates images from manipulation of strong magnetic fields, CT uses ionizing radiation just like xrays. CT is much faster and allows for a large survey of parts of the body. MRI is more suitable for evaluating more specific tissues (heart, brain, joints) Each has their own advantages &amp; disadvantages and largely depend on what is being assessed. Always confer with a radiologist!

They are: different tests that create images based on different technologies, so which one is best depends on what exactly your doctor is looking for. For certain indications,  either one or the other might be preferred.  Sometimes, both may be necessary.

It can happen:(: Even though this headache lasted a lot longer than your usual ones, it is not uncommon for migraine sufferers to occasionally have a a headache and other symptoms far different from their usual pattern. The negative MRI is additionally reassuring. Hopefully your usual medications were helpful in getting through this. The good news: unlikely to recur or if does, infrequently. Work with neurologist.
