CT Scan: Yes, a ct scan can show certain things that MRI scans cannot. Depending on what your doctor is suspecting, a ct or MRI may be more appropriate. What is the issue of concern?

Yes: Some Doctors who interpret MRI exclusively in their practice will promote the idea that MRI is the best imaging technique for every condition. To a lesser extent, some Doctors will say CT. Some doctors swear by Ultrasound imaging. There are strength and weaknesses of each modality, with considerable overlap in information produced. And each modality has some advantage over others.
