High Hgb and RBC Hct: Hemoblobin and hemotocrit refer to the amount of red blood cells in your body when measured in a special machine called a Coulter Counter.
HIgh Hb and high Hematocrit (Hct) is often non significant but it can on rare occasions indicate a problem wiht the bone marrow or even or lungs, but these are quite uncommon.

Borderline values: Normal Hgb in women is 12gm. Yours is nearly as good. So I would not worry about it at present.. If you are concerned you can recheck it in 3-6 months....the values fluctuate a bit around your normal value. Unless your Hb is 11 gm or less, I would not be too concerned.

Iron deficiency: Mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) is the amount of hemoglobin in the rbc  a low MCH means the concentration in each red cell is low.  This is seen in some forms of mild anemia and could be a sign of early iron deficiency or thalassemia.  If you divide the rbc by the MCV and the result is &lt;13 a thalassemia trait is more likely if it is &gt;13 iron deficiency.  See an internist for definitive diagnosis.

my rbc is 5.85 m/ul hgb is 17.1 g/dl hct 50.6% are all higher than normal range what cause these to be above normal average like infection?

: Living in high altitude or heavy smoker are the common causes. Moderate dehydration and certain medication can result the same. If none of these conditions is present and these changes are new, your doctor will check again in 3 months and if the numbers get higher you will be referred to see a hematologist (a specialist in blood disease). Treatment is indicated when Hct goes above 55.

wife had atypical lymphs of 16. should we be concerned? her wbc was normal and rbc,hgb,and hct were normal too.

May bedue to virus: Atypical lymphs are not uncommon after a virus infections. So it will likely settle down in 4-6 weeks. If you want to be absolutely sure that it is nothing else, then a repeat CBC in 2 months will help to reassure you.

what kind of anemia would i have if my hct and rbc are low, but my hgb and ferritin levels are normal?

Not anemic : We rather go by haemoglobin than hamatocrit. So if your haemoglobin is normal and ferritin is normal you are not anemic as hct and rbc count are probably relative indices than the former two giving better estimation of anemia. Also you have to check your B12 and folate (folic acid) levels in addition to iron studies to complete the work up for anemia though the hb if normal , you are not anemic.

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, a hemoglobin variant may be an explanation and that would require an addition test that your doctor can order.     Wish you good health!

Anemia of low iron: The blood results you describe would go along with iron deficiency anemia and in a person of your age likely due to not enough iron intake to make back the red cells you lose during your period. You do not give the actual numbers or the reason you had the testing. Taking iron pills and eating deep green veggies would be what is needed. Ask your MD if iron deficiency is the cause. Low MCV, mch : May be early signs of  anemia low iron  before the actual  blood count goes down  may be due to period if female or celiac disease or gastric issues. Rarely may be alpha thalassemia  trait. ( need hemoglobin electrophoresis to diagnosis ) and   and genetic testing (alpha thalassemia mutations panel)  f/u/ w/ MD

How low?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, 
It would have helped to have the actual results. The monocyte count, by itself is not particularly meaningful.
