Non viable pregnancy: When beta HCG levels don't double every 2 days, it is unlikely that there is an embryo with a heart beat.

Part : Part of this depends on how far along you are with the pregnancy, i.E, how many weeks.  You are right, the levels often double at this stage of the pregnancy.  A sac/fetus should definitely be seen by 5-6 weeks.  I am glad that you are under the care of a gynecologist who can follow you to make a determination.

Possible ectopic: At a hCG level of 3188 a pregnancy should be demonstrable in the uterus by transvaginal ultrasound. if not there is concern for a pregnancy outside the uterus. A diagnostic laparoscopy can help establishing the diagnosis.

Normal: I am not sure why you are following HCG levels at this point in the pregnancy. An us is a much better way to confirm a viable pregnancy at this geatation. Hcg levels do plateau.

Yes: That increase is great.  It's still of course way too early to tell if this pregnancy will be viable or not, but those are thus far excellent numbers.  If you underwent stimulation of your ovaries, or ivf, then recommendation could change depending on when conception occurred, but if this was just a serum hcg, those numbers are excellent.

Not yet: On many occasions, pregnancies proceed to be just fine even without the typical doubling. Hopefully, your OB will request an ultrasound, get a baseline reading, and then do a follow up scan as appropriate. Best Wishes

HCG doubling times: Early in pregnancy hCG quantitative levels rise quickly, normally doubling every two to tive days before seven weeks. But there is wide variation in this range. Faster rates have an association (weak) with twins or multiple gestations, and possibly with molar pregnancy, though again these are not absolute, and not used to make either diagnosis. US will be the better choice.
