What is going on with my baby? my hcg levels are rising but are not doubling i have spotted for almost a month and just recently stopped, i have had transvaginal scans done but there is no baby seen anywhere

Part : Part of this depends on how far along you are with the pregnancy, i.E, how many weeks. You are right, the levels often double at this stage of the pregnancy. A sac/fetus should definitely be seen by 5-6 weeks. I am glad that you are under the care of a gynecologist who can follow you to make a determination.

Agree with Dr. E.: HCG levels should double every 2 days in a normal uterine pregnancy. You may wish to get a repeat scan in a week or so, especially to rule out ectopic pregnancy. Wish you good health and a healthy baby.
