: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. so i have hashimotos thyroiditis and i use to take my synthroid but stopped once i had my gastric sleeve. because my levels went back to normal should i go head and start back up on my meds and still have my labs for tsh drawn regularly?

: Once you take synthroid for hypothyroidism you will need this med indefinitely. Yes, you need to retake it then have TSH level done in 3 months.

my doctor wants me to do a ct due to weight loss i have but he wants me to take iodine before scan. i have hashimotos thyroiditis and ive learned high iodine can mess up thyroid or even cause thyroid cancer. im worried, should i still do it?

Get second opinion: A CT with contrast due to weight loss leaves some questions. Iodine does not cause thyroid cancer. You would be well served to get a second opinion about the need for CT in the first place. It may be prudent to consult a gastroenterologist.
