It may be found when asymptomatic (no symptoms) or when very advanced an many symptoms, such as pain, hemoptysis (coughing up blood), seizure (brain mets), shortness of breath, etc.

If not pressing on airways it may not cause symptoms.

Smoking: Within literally minutes of not smoking your lungs improve. You might  well have a cough for a while, this should be of no concern. Over several months you will feel much better, breathe much better , have much more stamina. That said you don&#x27;t say how long /smoking. If cough persists or shortness of breath persists you need to be evaluated. 10 years of not smoking =never smoke. Congrats.
